Tangier: Arrival & City Tour

Your 13-day Morocco tour from Tangier to Marrakech begins with a private pickup from Tangier Ibn Battuta Airport, the ferry terminal or your hotel.

Begin exploring Tangier, the fascinating city overlooking the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Visit the historic Kasbah and walk through the narrow streets of the old Medina.

Continue to the Grand Socco, one of Tangier's lively central squares, before heading toward Cape Spartel. From here, enjoy impressive views over the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. You can also visit the nearby Caves of Hercules if your arrival time allows.

In the afternoon, return to central Tangier and enjoy free time to explore the Medina, browse local shops or relax at a traditional café. Your first evening is free to enjoy dinner and discover Tangier's unique atmosphere.

Tangier Breakfast
Day 2

Tangier → Chefchaouen

After breakfast, leave Tangier and travel south through the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, Morocco's famous Blue City.

The journey takes you into the mountains, where the scenery becomes greener and more rugged. On arrival, check into your riad and begin exploring the charming old Medina.

Walk through the blue-painted streets and discover small squares, local craft shops, traditional houses and colorful doorways. Visit Plaza Uta el-Hammam and the historic Kasbah before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.

The afternoon can be spent at a relaxed pace. You can climb toward the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views over Chefchaouen or simply wander through the quiet streets of the Medina.

Chefchaouen is one of the most photogenic destinations in Morocco, but its appeal goes beyond its blue architecture. The surrounding Rif Mountains and relaxed atmosphere make it a wonderful contrast to busy Moroccan cities.

~115 km Chefchaouen Breakfast
Day 3

Chefchaouen → Fes

Enjoy breakfast before leaving Chefchaouen and continuing toward Fes, one of Morocco's most important cultural and historic cities.

The road takes you through the Rif and northern Moroccan countryside before reaching the Fes region.

Depending on your departure time, you can stop for lunch along the way. Arrive in Fes in the afternoon and check into your traditional riad inside or near the historic Medina.

You can spend the rest of the day relaxing or take an introductory walk through the surrounding area. Your guide can also recommend a traditional Moroccan restaurant for dinner.

Fes is famous for its centuries-old Medina, traditional crafts, souks and historic architecture. Enjoy your first evening in Fes and experience the atmosphere of one of Morocco's oldest imperial cities.

Day 4

Full-Day Fes Sightseeing Tour

Today is dedicated to discovering Fes with a local licensed guide.

Enter the historic Medina and explore its maze of narrow streets, traditional souks and artisan workshops. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine area and the famous leather tanneries.

Continue through the old city to discover traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, including zellige tilework, pottery, leather and metalwork.

After lunch, visit the Mellah, the historic Jewish Quarter, and continue to viewpoints overlooking the ancient city. Your guide can adapt the tour according to your interests, whether you are particularly interested in architecture, history, culture, food or shopping.

Fes offers a completely different experience from Chefchaouen, with a much larger and more historic Medina. Return to your riad in the evening and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 7

Merzouga → Ouzina → Ramlia → Desert Tracks

Leave Merzouga after breakfast and travel deeper into the remote desert landscapes toward Ouzina.

This is one of the most adventurous days of the itinerary. Instead of following the main paved road, you will travel through desert tracks and isolated landscapes between Erg Chebbi and the Ouzina region.

Stop along the way for photographs and enjoy the silence of the desert away from the busier tourist routes. Depending on the conditions, the route can include the area around Ramlia and other small desert settlements.

Ouzina is known for its impressive red sand dunes and remote atmosphere. The area provides a more intimate experience of southeastern Morocco and is ideal for travelers looking to discover a quieter side of the Sahara.

In the afternoon, arrive at your accommodation near Ouzina and enjoy the peaceful desert surroundings. Spend the evening with a traditional Moroccan dinner and enjoy the clear desert sky.

After breakfast, continue your journey west toward Zagora.

Leave the remote Ouzina desert behind and travel through the dramatic landscapes of southern Morocco. The road passes through desert plateaus, mountain landscapes and small Berber villages.

Continue toward Alnif, an area known for fossils and geological landscapes. Depending on your interests, you can make a short stop before continuing toward Tazzarine.

The scenery gradually changes as you approach the Draa Valley. Palm groves begin to appear and the landscape becomes greener.

Continue to Zagora, an important town at the entrance to the Draa Valley and historically connected with trans-Saharan caravan routes. After checking into your accommodation, enjoy free time to relax or explore the town. In the evening, enjoy dinner and the peaceful atmosphere of the southern oasis region.

~250 km Zagora Breakfast & Dinner
Day 9

Zagora → Draa Valley → Agdz → Ouarzazate

After breakfast, begin your journey through the spectacular Draa Valley, one of Morocco's most impressive oasis landscapes.

The valley is lined with thousands of palm trees, traditional villages and ancient kasbahs. Along the route, stop at panoramic viewpoints and small villages to experience the scenery and local way of life.

Continue toward Agdz, an oasis town surrounded by palm groves and historic kasbahs. You can visit Tamnougalt Kasbah, one of the area's most interesting historical sites, depending on your schedule.

After lunch, continue north toward Ouarzazate. The landscape gradually changes from oasis to mountains and rocky plateaus.

Arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon. Known as the gateway to the desert and a center of Morocco's film industry, the city makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding kasbahs and valleys.

~170 km Ouarzazate Breakfast & Dinner
Day 10

Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Ounila Valley → Marrakech

Why Choose This Tour?

This 13-day Tangier to Marrakech Morocco tour is designed for travelers who want to experience both the famous highlights and the less-visited landscapes of southern Morocco.

The route does not simply take you from one major city to another. It combines Morocco's northern Mediterranean atmosphere with Chefchaouen and Fes, then gradually moves south through the Atlas Mountains into the Sahara.

The inclusion of Merzouga, Ouzina and Zagora gives you three very different desert experiences. Merzouga offers the iconic Erg Chebbi dunes and camel trekking, while Ouzina provides a quieter and more remote desert atmosphere. Zagora introduces you to the vast Draa Valley and its palm-filled oasis landscapes.

The final section through Ouarzazate, Aït Ben Haddou and the High Atlas creates a spectacular transition from the desert back to Marrakech.

Because this is a private and fully customizable tour, the itinerary can be adapted to your preferred travel pace, accommodation category and interests.
