5-Day Desert Tour from Agadir to Merzouga & Errachidia AirportA private Sahara journey ending at Errachidia Airport

Your private driver will collect you from your hotel, riad or Agadir Airport in the morning. Leaving the coast behind, you will travel through the Souss Valley toward Taroudant, a traditional town surrounded by historic ramparts. Take a short walk near the old walls and, if time allows, visit part of the local market before continuing inland.

The journey takes you toward Taliouine, a region known for saffron cultivation. Here, the scenery begins to change as you travel through rocky hills, mountain villages and open countryside. Stop for lunch along the way, then continue through Taznakht toward Ouarzazate.

This is one of the longer driving days of the tour, so your driver will arrange breaks for refreshments and photographs. On arrival in Ouarzazate, check into your hotel or riad and enjoy a quiet evening. If you arrive early enough, you can take a short walk around the town before dinner.

After breakfast, drive to Aït Ben Haddou, a fortified village built from traditional earthen materials. Cross into the old ksar and walk through its narrow lanes, passing houses and historic buildings on the way to the upper viewpoint. From there, you can look across the village and the surrounding valley before returning to your vehicle.

Continue through Ouarzazate toward Skoura, where palm groves and old kasbahs stand alongside cultivated fields. The route then leads through the Valley of Roses, with opportunities to stop in small villages and enjoy the changing mountain scenery.

By afternoon, you will reach the Dades Valley. Depending on the time available, your driver can take you to a viewpoint overlooking the winding road and distinctive rock formations. Afterwards, settle into your hotel or riad, enjoy dinner and spend the evening surrounded by the valley's peaceful landscapes.

Leave the Dades Valley after breakfast and travel toward Tinghir, passing villages and palm groves on the way to Todra Gorge. Stop for a walk through the canyon, where steep rock walls rise on either side of the riverbed. You will have time to enjoy the scenery and take photographs before continuing toward the Sahara.

After lunch along the route, travel through Erfoud and Rissani. As you approach Merzouga, the landscape opens into dry plains, with the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appearing in the distance.

On arrival, meet your camel guide and begin your ride into the dunes. Stop to watch the sunset before continuing to your desert camp. Enjoy a Moroccan dinner and an evening around the campfire, then spend the night in your private tent beneath the Sahara sky.

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and meet your driver for a private desert excursion. Today, you can explore the area around Erg Chebbi without another long road transfer.

Travel along the desert tracks toward Khamlia, a village known for its Gnawa musical traditions. Spend some time listening to local musicians before continuing through the rocky landscapes and small settlements surrounding the dunes. If a local family is available to welcome visitors, you may also have the opportunity to learn about nomadic life in the region.

Stop for lunch, then return to your accommodation in Merzouga. The afternoon is free to relax, walk near the dunes or arrange an optional quad-bike or buggy excursion. Enjoy your final evening in the Sahara and prepare for the airport transfer the following day.

After breakfast, meet your private driver for the final stage of your tour. Leave the Erg Chebbi dunes behind and travel north through Rissani and Erfoud toward Errachidia.

The drive usually takes around two hours, but your departure time will be planned according to your flight and the airport's recommended check-in time. If your schedule allows, you can stop briefly for refreshments or photographs. For an early flight, your driver will take you directly to the airport without additional sightseeing stops.

You will be dropped off at Errachidia Moulay Ali Cherif Airport (ERH), where your private desert tour comes to an end. If your flight departs very early, we can adjust the itinerary so that you spend the fourth night in Errachidia rather than Merzouga, reducing the journey required on departure day.
